Ž Restaurants Wins the Cornerstone Award


LINCOLN - Donald Everett Jr., President of RunzaŽ Restaurants, accepted the Cornerstone Award from Mayor Don Wesely at the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce Celebrate Business luncheon on Tuesday. The Cornerstone Award is given to a business that has shown leadership and service to the community.

The Lincoln community and its residents are very important to RunzaŽ Restaurants. Local involvement includes the Homestead Girl Scout Council, Boy Scouts, Little Chiefs Baseball, Midget Football, Lincoln Literacy Council, American Cancer Society, Lincoln Children's Museum, Cornhusker State Games, Mothers Against Drunk Driving and the VIP School Partnership Program. "RunzaŽ Restaurants understands that community service is vital for business success, and we are committed to continuing and expanding our efforts," said Everett, Jr.

Renee Sjulin, Vice President stated, "Our goal is to encourage employees to become life long volunteers and civic representatives for their community." To nurture employee community service, each store participates in a neighborhood marketing program, which includes involvement such as sponsorships, donations, civic responsibilities and school activities.
