
A General Manager is responsible for every aspect of their store's operation. These duties include but are not limited to: bookkeeping, scheduling, inventory control, managing shifts, closing/opening the store, ordering product, interviewing, hiring, training & motivating employees, enforcing policies, customer relations, cleanliness of the store, quality of all food products and service, etc. A General Manager is also responsible for hitting sales and labor goals to achieve a successful profit and loss statement. A General Manager must be proficient at all food preparation and customer service positions. Good physical stamina is essential due to the number of hours and type of work performed.
Schedule: A General Manager must be dependable, reliable and available to his/her store. A General Manager is required to work whatever hours are necessary to manage his/her store properly, which may include a variety of shifts and hours. A minimum of 45 hours, two closing shifts, and two front counter shifts per week is required. General Managers have the opportunity for a reduced work week (35 hours/wk.) after 10+ years of managing.
A General Manager’s total compensation package including bonus ranges from $27,000 - $73,400 annually (varies with experience). In addition to a competitive salary, a General Manager is offered an outstanding bonus and benefits package.
